Modify Reports with Quick Edit

Quick Edit lets you modify an existing report without rebuilding it. You can update fields, adjust filters, preview results, and export data.

Who Can Use This Feature

Quick Edit is available to users with Creator permissions in Emburse Analytics Pro.

Quick Edit is available for reports only.

Open Quick Edit from a Report

  1. Select the REPORTS tab.

  2. Find the report and select More Actions.

  3. Select Quick Edit.

    The Quick Edit panel displays, allowing you to modify the report configuration.

    The Fields section on the left displays all fields on the report.

    The Filters section on the right displays all filters on the report.

Reorder, Remove, or Add Fields

You can adjust which fields display on the report and how they are arranged.

Reorder Fields

  1. On the Quick Edit screen, locate the Fields section.

  2. Use the squares to the left of the field name to drag it to the desired position.

Add Fields

  1. Select ADD FIELD.

  3. Begin typing the field name to choose from the available list.

  4. Select the checkbox(es) next to the desired field(s).

  5. Select SAVE.

    The new field displays at the bottom of the list. Use the squares to the left of the field name to drag it to the desired position.

Remove Fields

  1. In the Fields section, locate the field you want to remove.

  2. To the right of the field name, select the Trash Can button. .

Adjust or Add Filters

Quick Edit allows you to modify existing filters or add new ones to refine your report results.

Adjust Default Filters

  1. In the Filters section, locate the existing filter.

  2. Update the filter values as needed. See "Filters" in Add and Edit Report Content for complete details.

Add New Filters

  1. Select ADD FILTER.

  4. Select the checkbox(es) next to the desired field(s)

  5. Select SAVE.

Preview Report Output

Preview displays the modified report using live data so you can verify the output before downloading.

  1. In the upper-right corner of the Quick Edit screen, select RUN.

The Preview screen displays a subset of the records for your review.

  1. To make changes, select KEEP EDITING.

Download Report Results

When you are finished modifying the report, you can export it in multiple formats.

  1. In the upper-right corner of the Quick Edit screen, select RUN.

  3. On the Preview screen, select DOWNLOAD.

  5. Use the dropdown to choose one of the following file formats.

    • XLSX

    • CSV

    • HTML

  6. Select DOWNLOAD.

    A file containing all applicable records downloads to your device.
