Group Management Admin Screen
Use Group Management to create and maintain the customer security groups that Secure Folders uses for folder access. Group membership does not require Security Admin membership.
Group Management is separate from licenses and user types. For Viewer and Creator licenses, see User Management Admin Screen. Analytics groups are also separate from the groups on a person's profile in the main Emburse application. Those groups do not carry over.
Access Group Management
Select Admin, then select Group Management.
The list shows your customer security groups, including Security Admin. It does not show the tenant group that provisioning maintains. You manage All Users access from folder permissions, not by editing All Users membership here.
Create a Group
Select Create Group.
Enter a group name.
Select Save. The group is created, and you can add members.
To leave the group empty, cancel the member step. The group remains created.
If the name is already in use, an error displays and the group is not created.
Rename a Group
From the group action menu, select Rename. Enter the new name, then select Save. Renaming a group does not change its members or the folder permissions assigned to it.
If the new name is already in use, an error displays and the name is not changed. Security Admin cannot be renamed.
Delete a Group
From the group action menu, select Delete. In the confirmation dialog, enter the group name to confirm the deletion.
Security Admin cannot be deleted.
Manage Members
From the group action menu, select Manage Members.
Current members display in the right column. To add a member, select the plus icon next to the user in the left column.
To remove a member, select the trash icon in the right column.
Select Save. Review the member list, then submit the change. Member changes do not apply until they are saved.
Folder access follows current membership. Adding or removing a member updates who can reach every folder assigned to that group.
Security Admin Group
- Security Admin cannot be renamed or deleted.
- Security Admin must keep at least one Creator member.
- The selectable member list for Security Admin is limited to Creators.
- An administrator can add or remove Security Admin members here after Emburse enables Secure Folders.
Assign a Group to a Folder
After the group has the members it needs, assign it from the folder permission list. In the folder permissions dialog, select the Groups tab, then add the group. Groups do not count toward the limit of 10 named users on a folder. For the permission steps, see Secure Folders.
